At night, you might have difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, difficulty falling back to sleep when you wake, and feel unrefreshed on waking; all of this can bleed into your day with feeling fatigued, having to nap, having difficulty focusing, and feeling irritable. In the long term, this can also affect your body’s stress hormones, immune system, cardiovascular health, blood sugar regulation, and more.

Approaches to Sleep Problems

There are many approaches to sleep problems from behavioral to pharmaceutical. Depending on your symptoms, you may be referred for a sleep study to rule out conditions like sleep apnea. Pharmaceuticals can help get you sleeping, but frequently don’t address the underlying factors contributing to sleep difficulties and can be problematic for many. We focus on the whole person to determine what factors may be contributing to sleep issues and have many herbs and nutrients at our disposal to improve sleep quality and get you out of the rut of poor sleep while addressing underlying causes.
