Headache & Migraine

Are chronic headaches getting you down? You are not alone -- headaches affect most people at some point in their life and they can have a major impact on mood, productivity, and overall quality of life. The most common types of headaches are tension headaches and migraines. Both can last for hours or even days if not addressed and both can be quite severe. Migraines can often be accompanied by other symptoms such as visual disturbance, nausea, and light sensitivity. Tension headaches typically don't have these symptoms but can still be very painful. Other types of headaches include cluster headaches which are characterized by short bursts of very sharp pain, sinus headaches, and headaches caused by dehydration or environmental sensitivities.

Treating Headaches

Our team of doctors has many ways to treat headaches, but even better, we have tools to help prevent headaches from starting in the first place. Identifying migraine triggers such as hormonal changes, sensitivities, and certain food groups can help reduce frequency significantly. Tension headaches often develop from poor workplace ergonomics and changing your posture or workstation might mean you get through the day headache free!

Once a headache does start, it's best to try to nip it in the bud. No one's going to give you an award for suffering through it. Some patients do well with extra hydration on board, others notice a huge difference with magnesium. Some people do best with over-the-counter or prescription medication. Some of our patients combine the power of our medical team with our chiropractic care to attain tremendous results.  Schedule an appointment to find a plan that works for you!
